AMD has moved the Ryzen 5 5600X, and the rest of the family to a dark brushed metal finish on the box but otherwise retains the same style as previous generations.

Our 5600X box is quite a bit thinner than normal as it doesn’t come with a cooler. Retail Ryzen 5000 series CPUs will come with a cooler except for the Ryzen 9 5900X and 5950X as AMD expects users at that level to want premium cooling for maximum performance.

AMD still ships its processors in the same clamshell it has used for a LONG time. Nothing new to see here.

The Ryzen 5 5600X model sits along the top edge of the HIS with the AMD Ryzen logo near the middle.

There isn’t much to see on the back, just 1331 pins.
